CHUCHUBI TRUNKING SYSTEM
Under the name “Chuchubi”, Obersi Eelctronics Bonaire and Zenitel Caribbean bring a new digital trunking system on the market based on the European TETRA digital trunking protocol, that offers the following services: Group Conversation Traffic based on PTT (Push to Talk), Short Data Services, Roaming, Private Call, Data , Fleet Management.
In 1994 under the name “BTS” Obersi Electronics Bonaire was among the first to introduce this analog trunking system in the Caribbean (Bonaire). In 2007 after being informed by Motorola/Zenitel that they could no longer support and carry parts for the Analog system, we could not take the responsibility to have important organizations/companies on said system without informing them and come with an alternative. In 2008 we introduced the Chuchubi trunking system with the intention to shut down BTS. However after careful evaluation, we decided to eliminate some receiver/transmitter units to use them as spare parts and back up to maintain the system on air as an alternative for start up companies. We will not sell radios on this system anymore. We will however do short term rentals. We highly recommend the Chuchubi trunking system as a more reliable, sophisticated and digital system vs. the BTS analog system.
We provide sales and service on the Motorola conventional 2 way radios which include portable radios, mobile radios, base station and repeaters. To prevent interference and lack of distance communication we highly recommend the use of the Chuchubi trunking system or the Bonaire trunking system.
Obersi electronics is the sole push to talk agent for Digicel Bonaire. Push to talk service is a Digicel service whereby one can use their cellular phone also as a walkie talkie on Digicel’s cellular infrastructure.
